Ashleigh grew up in a small country town on the mid north coast of New South Wales. She completed high school and went on to further her studies at TAFE, where she studied Children Services.
Ashleigh worked casually whilst studying and played a number of sports, including three years of representative netball for the Nambucca Valley.
At the end of 2008, Ashleigh moved to Port Hedland, Western Australia, with her partner where they both found full time work in the small mining town. She then moved to Brisbane at the start of 2010 for a change in lifestyle and a chance for new opportunities.
